Mexico is a country full of folklore, dances and typical costumes of its cities and towns. Although the costumes of the charro and the china poblana are internationally known as typical costumes, the traditional culture of the country has different costumes characterized by the geography or associated to it.
Also, if we refer to the typical dress, we cannot fail to mention the Aztec dress, full of color and accessories of great beauty.
But, the roots or origin of the costumes that still remain must be sought both in the indigenous ancestors and in the centuries-long influence exerted by Spain and its different regions.
Thus, each state of the 32 that make up the country has one or several versions of the typical costume. In fact, in the same state there are different costumes depending on the celebration. In some cases there is a great deal of similarity, in others, notable differences.
